These advanced sensors are made of carbon fiber composite materials and can be applied to traffic condition monitoring, traffic accident detection, and traffic accident prediction by real-time tracking of vehicle position, speed, and acceleration.
The experimental results indicate that FRP composed of carbon fiber, glass fiber, and epoxy resin generates electrical energy when the tire passes through. In addition, even after 10000 tire passes, no significant voltage degradation was observed in the FRP-TES grille, and its mechanical performance exceeded that of traditional TES systems.
Carbon fiber composite materials have excellent mechanical properties, weighing about a quarter of iron and having a strength 10 times that of iron. Due to their advantages over traditional iron-based materials, these composite materials are highly suitable for widespread use in various applications.
